The Role:AMD is seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Lawyer to join its dynamic legal team, providing critical support to the Indirect Procurement Group. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide range of procurement related agreements, including service contracts, licensing agreements, marketing arrangements, and HR related agreements. You will collaborate with cross functional teams across the globe, including finance, procurement, and business operations, to deliver strategic legal counsel and ensure compliance with AMD's internal policies and global regulatory standards. This role involves supporting a global organization and may require occasional international travel, so a valid passport is necessary.

Adaptable and detail-oriented, the successful candidate excels at managing multiple priorities while delivering practical, solution-oriented legal advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert legal counsel for a range of procurement and business transactions, including general services, software licensing (SaaS and on-premises), infrastructure services, professional services, and data processing agreements.
- Support marketing, sponsorship, HR, and event participation initiatives by drafting and negotiating key agreements.
- Partner with internal teams to develop and implement processes that effectively manage legal risks.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders across the US, EMEA, LTAM, and APAC regions, including occasional meetings outside standard business hours.
- Deliver practical training to internal clients on legal topics and best practices.
- Manage and oversee engagements with outside counsel, ensuring alignment with budget and strategic objectives.
Preferred Experience:
- Proven experience in negotiating and drafting contracts, particularly in indirect procurement, services, SaaS, and intellectual property agreements.
- Knowledge of compliance matters, including data security, GDPR, and CCPA.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including managing paralegals, attorneys, and external legal resources.
- Exceptional multitasking and prioritization skills, with the ability to excel under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Skilled in fostering strong partnerships and collaborating effectively with global teams.
Academic and Professional Credentials:
- J.D. or LL.B. from an accredited law school in the United States and/or Canada.
- Member in good standing of a provincial and/or state bar.
