The Legal Recruiting & Associate Life Coordinator supports both the Legal Recruiting and Legal Talent functions of the Boston office and reports to the Director of Administration - Boston. Responsibilities include planning, implementing, and overseeing the Summer Associate program; coordinating summer and lateral associate recruiting, onboarding, and integration; and supporting associate professional development and wellbeing, serving as a point of contact and resource to all Boston Associates.  This role also includes ensuring a focus on inclusion and diversity, liaising and managing relationships with area law schools, and building and promoting the STB brand in the Boston legal market.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate successful summer and lateral associate and counsel recruiting for the Boston office – including virtual and in-person interview coordination, liaising with candidates, offer extension, and follow up
  • Support Boston office Recruiting Committee Partner(s), including tracking and providing candidate status updates
  • Facilitate Career Services and Law School relationships and promote the Firm’s on campus presence and engagement, including planning and attending 1L events and tracking sponsorships and student group activities
  • Coordinate summer program recruiting process and interviews
  • Develop Summer program events calendar with Summer Associate Committee and Director of Administration, create invitations, coordinate logistics, work with vendors, and oversee events to ensure seamless execution
  • Coordinate Summer Associate assignments and performance review process
  • Coordinate new associate and counsel onboarding, orientation, and integration
  • Provide support for associate mentoring programs
  • Coordinate practice group trainings and meetings with group leadership
  • Facilitate and track various associate-related tasks, including but not limited to bar admission forms/tracking and training and development opportunities
  • Develop, with Director of Administration, annual recruiting and legal talent budgets
  • Track expenses, process invoices, and provide budget reports as needed 
  • Understand and respond to national and regional legal recruiting trends
  • Flexibility to adjust hours to meet departmental needs and perform other related duties as assigned

Education

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Skills & Experience

Required  

  • 3-5 years of legal recruiting and attorney development experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent judgment, professional maturity, and risk management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, work independently, prioritize workloads, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service at all times; exercise courtesy and diplomacy with Firm personnel and representatives outside of the company
  • Ability to use tact and discretion and maintain utmost confidentiality of personnel information
  • Highly dependable and demonstrated consistent, effective administrative and clerical performance for the accomplishment of responsibilities and defined objectives
  • Strong administrative and data management skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Excel and PowerPoint required

Preferred

  • Previous experience working in an administrative capacity in a large law firm
  • Proficiency in Flo Recruit, vi and other similar recruiting systems preferred

Salary Information

MA Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 at the time of posting.

The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is non-exempt meaning it is overtime pay eligible.
