Required Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
• Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Operation of Postage Meter
• Coordination of logistics for the departments Referral hearing process
• Fielding incoming calls and transferring to appropriate area
• Check quotes/proposals for arithmetic errors and correct prevailing wages
• Experience working in the New York State Department of Health, Division of Legal Affairs
• Cisco telephone system
Paralegals and Legal Assistants Job Duties:
**Only those lawfully authorized to work in the designated country associated with the position will be considered.**• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with the coordination of logistics for the departments Direct Referral hearing process Ability to work independently on multiple case hearing details
• Proficient with operation of postage meter and process for sending documents by certified mail
• Experience fielding incoming calls, determining the legal subject that the caller is calling about, and routing caller to appropriate attorney or refer to appropriate DOH program area
• Proficient in coordinating service of legal documents
• Experience with processing of invoices for process service companies
• Experience working in the New York State Department of Health, Division of Legal Affairs
• Knowledge of the organizational structure of Department of Health
• Good communication skills both written and verbal
• Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
• Able to maintain an organized workspace
• Reliable, efficient, and flexible
• Able to work independently and effectively
• Eager to learn and grow in any position
• Able to work with personal and confidential information in a professional manner
• Able to understand and interpret laws and other legal documents
• Detail oriented, quality conscious, strong prioritizing skills
