Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated LAN Field Tech Specialist for a 6-month on-site contract position based in Sanford, NC. This role is essential for supporting local area networks and ensuring seamless integration of computer systems across various judicial facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide timely installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LAN hardware and software, including file servers, routers, and switches.Interface with Judicial Branch personnel and local government officials to deliver exceptional technical support.Assist in the relocation of judicial facilities, including courthouses and offices, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.Conduct training sessions for judicial staff on technology and software as needed.Evaluate and recommend hardware and software configurations to optimize performance.Participate in large-scale technology deployment initiatives, including statewide software updates and server upgrades.Manage critical incidents, identifying problems and facilitating resolutions with vendors when necessary.
Required Skills
Proficient knowledge of Ethernet topology networks, Windows 10⁄11, Office 2016⁄365, and SCCM/MECM.Skilled in installing personal computers and peripherals, troubleshooting LAN hardware, and software issues.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a dedication to providing excellent customer service.Effective communication skills to articulate technical information to non-technical users.Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet customer needs.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized institution.A minimum of one year of progressive experience within the information technology sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation And Benefits
Competitive hourly rate of $30 as a W-2 contractor.Eligible for travel reimbursement for up to 20% overnight travel across the state, utilizing contractor-owned vehicles.
