What You’ll Do

As a Senior Paralegal at Brex, you will play a critical role in supporting our legal team on a broad array of legal matters. You will be responsible for managing and operationalizing a variety of legal processes, including legal requests, lien enforcement, and bankruptcy filings. You will also have experience in, and help manage, corporate legal matters including legal entity management, keeping required company filings up to date, assisting on due diligence matters, helping prepare board-related materials, and assisting with equity administration. You will collaborate with legal team members and other stakeholders to provide general legal support on critical matters and help drive business results through effective process management.

Where you'll work

This role will be based in our Seattle office. You must be willing to work in office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday, starting the week of January 6th, 2025. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.

Responsibilities

Oversee the handling of legal process requests from law enforcement, collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide necessary information and documentation while maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.Maintain comprehensive tracking systems to monitor the progress of legal proceedings, including case status, deadlines, and response metrics. Generate regular reports to inform stakeholders about the status of legal matters.Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for legal process handling.Manage the full spectrum of bankruptcy claim filings, including claim submission, case oversight, and record maintenance.Coordinate with attorneys, courts, and various internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements.Administer lien, levy, and garnishment actions, including account suspensions and releases.Lead and/or assist with project management for legal department projects and assist in the development or improvement of templates, department-wide business processes, and policies and procedureManage the company’s legal entities (domestic and international) ensuring compliance with all reporting, filing, and other obligationsProvide support for corporate transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments, including managing due diligence processes and maintaining a diligence bank.Maintain and organize corporate records, including bylaws, operating agreements, and shareholder agreements, and provide support for corporate governance activities, including preparing minutes and other governance documents.

Qualifications

Paralegal certificate preferred6+ years of experience as a corporate and/or litigation paralegal, preferably with a mix of in-house and law firm experience.Proficiency in legal research, drafting legal documents, and managing complex litigation matters.Strong technology skills and proficiency in Google Suite, Jira, Salesforce, Logickull, Google Vault, and e-discovery software applications. Willingness to learn new legal technology platforms.Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams, including remote and cross-functional groups.High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical conduct in handling confidential and sensitive information.Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Willingness to be a team player who pitches in to help out on other workstreams and topics; one of our key tenets is “One Brex”

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $135,720 USD - $169,650 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
