The Opportunity

Adobe seeks an experienced legal professional to lead product support for the DX BU and to help formulate product strategy on behalf of the EDX Legal team. Enterprise/DX Legal (“EDX Legal”) is a group of attorneys and paralegals who provide legal counsel to the Worldwide Field Organization (“Enterprise”), the Digital Experience Business Unit (“DX”) and the broader business at Adobe. These groups build Adobe’s Experience Cloud products within DX and sell Adobe’s world class products across all clouds (Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud). This Senior Director level role will work closely with senior management, technology sellers, business strategy and marketing teams, as well as colleagues in the Legal, Security and Policy organization. This role reports to our Vice President, Deputy General Counsel of Adobe Enterprise and the DX Business Unit, and will help advance our clients' business objectives while managing business and legal risk.

What You'll Do

Support the overall DX/Experience Cloud product strategy, development, launch, and go-to-market motions focusing on managing legal and compliance requirements, including AI, privacy, data governance, security, and third-party technology integrations. Apply critical legal analyses to a myriad of complex legal matters, such as software development in the age of AI, technology licensing, international expansion, M&A integrations, and policy issues. Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with leaders across the broader Legal, Security, & Policy organization to develop, drive, and implement critical initiatives. Generate business insights into trends impacting EDX Product Legal. This includes establishing and reviewing team performance metrics, assessing industry developments, evaluating potential new business, and exploring the implementation of new technologies to achieve strategic objectives. Lead a team of impactful product support legal professionals. Proactively address operational issues and collaborate with team members to tackle problems quickly and thoughtfully. Manage annual planning activities, translating organizational goals and objectives into initiatives, timelines, and plans.

What You Need To Succeed

Law degree/JD and at least 12 years of relevant in-house legal experience required, with a predominant focus in the tech industry. Significant experience supporting software product development (preferably SaaS), e-commerce, marketing, and consumer protection matters across many jurisdictions around the world. Strong leadership abilities with experience managing multi-layered organizations. Able to succinctly frame complex legal issues and communicate effectively with multiple levels of management (including senior executives), including in support of product development and innovation. Expert at negotiating and drafting all types of technology licensing agreements, including in-bound licenses, outbound licenses, online services agreements, and terms of use for online services. CIPP and CISSP certifications are a plus. 3+ years of firm experience preferred. Dedication to providing clients with high-quality and timely legal advice in a fast-paced work environment with a strong customer focus. Able to think and act strategically and be a creative problem solver.
