Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated LAN Field Tech Specialist for a 6-month on-site contract position in Sanford, NC. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and integration of computer systems within the local area network, focusing on high-quality technical support and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot LAN hardware and software, including file servers, routers, switches, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Collaborate with Judicial Branch staff and local government officials to address technical issues and fulfill operational requirements.
  • Actively engage in facilitating moves and relocations of judicial facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
  • Provide training to judicial staff as required, enhancing their technical proficiency.
  • Test, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software configurations to optimize system performance.
  • Participate in large-scale technology deployment projects, including statewide software updates and server upgrades.
  • Manage critical incidents and collaborate with vendors to resolve technical challenges.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in the design and implementation of Ethernet topology networks, Windows 10⁄11, Office 2016⁄365, SCCM/MECM, and Cisco technologies.
  • Strong skills in installing and configuring personal computers and peripherals such as printers, scanners, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities to address technical concerns effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical users.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, Engineering, or a closely related technical field from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of one year of progressive experience in information technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Competitive W-2 hourly rate of $30.
  • Eligible for travel reimbursement covering up to 20% of overnight travel across the state using contractor-owned vehicles.
  • Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with any overtime subject to management approval.
