ScionHealth is recruiting for a Senior Director, Compliance, to join our Compliance team. Remote candidates will be considered for this role.

Job Summary

The Senior Director, Compliance supports ScionHealth as a senior member of the Compliance function with generalist responsibilities across the Ethics and Compliance program. The Senior Director, Compliance will oversee Compliance training and communications activities, risk assessment, data analytics, provide advisory and deal with complex escalations and special projects.

Essential Functions

An individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Leads moderate to high complexity projects of identified concerns and strategic programmatic implementations such as leading data analytics activity to enhance the Compliance program.
  • Partners with the Chief Compliance Officer and other members of the Compliance Department to successfully complete deliverables, fostering a culture of integrity and best practice adherence to relevant government guidance and expectations (e.g., OIG and DOJ guidance, enforcement actions and advisory opinions).
  • Contributes to gap analysis, control testing, corrective action plan and other remediation measures to improve the effectiveness of the Compliance program with ongoing monitoring and review.
  • Leverages strong critical thinking and reasoning skills to partner with operations, legal, risk, HR, and other relevant Support Center stakeholders to identify, assess, and remediate existing and emerging compliance risks.
  • Oversee the training, communication, and awareness activities for the Compliance Department with a strong focus on Speak Up and non-retaliation initiatives.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Compliance Officer on partnering with leaders in the organization to demonstrably exhibit ongoing and continuous tone from the top.
  • Coordinates the risk assessment process.
  • Exhibits an expert understanding of healthcare regulation and compliance (e.g., Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, EMTALA, HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid billing requirements, etc.).

Is comfortable with ambiguity that may accompany a transformational business.
  • Approximate percent of time required to travel: Limited – up to 10%

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant experience required; Master’s Degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, healthcare services, or another related field or a Juris Doctorate is strongly preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or other compliance related certification preferred.

Experience

15+ years of experience in corporate compliance in a provider setting; detailed understanding of regulatory and health care compliance risk areas; understanding of business operations, objectives, and challenges.
