A Brief Overview

The Privacy Compliance Senior Manager will assist the Chief Privacy Officer with the build-out and ongoing strategy, management, and oversight of the privacy program, including designing, implementing, and managing privacy-focused technology, setting and managing appropriate controls and processes around the use of AI and data analytics, and assessing and mitigating risks of personal data usage across the organization. This will be a pivotal role in building and executing Trinet's privacy program strategy and shaping the future of our organization's data privacy efforts. In this role, the Privacy Compliance Senior Manager will work closely with all areas of the business to ensure that TriNet's use of personal information is in compliance with global privacy regulations as well as company and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of privacy engineering principles, a strong technical background, Privacy by Design expertise, and fluency in navigating complex legal and regulatory environments, including GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act, HIPAA, AI laws, and other international and U.S. privacy laws and regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Implement and oversee privacy-enhancing technologies and solutions, including OneTrust, to document and mitigate privacy risks and enhance data security
  • Support product engineering teams in developing Privacy by Design technical architecture for all new products and features, including AI technology.
  • Partner with Data Governance, Data and Analytics, and Data, Security and Technology teams to develop, implement and maintain data inventory and a record of processing activities (ROPA) and supporting processes.
  • Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments and risk assessments on complex or technical products, projects, services, vendors, and initiatives.
  • Enhance the Privacy by Design culture, create procedural documentation and frameworks, and promote Privacy by Design principles in compliance with applicable laws.
  • Act as subject matter authority and provide guidance on complex use cases involving Personal Information, including use of AI.
  • Assist with investigation and resolution of privacy incidents and breaches to ensure proper handling in accordance with global privacy regulations and internal processes.
  • Continually improve and update knowledge to accommodate changes to the organization's regulatory environment and needs.
  • Work with business units to understand use cases and operational procedures for business scenarios involving internal or external data handling. Identify operational risks in privacy processes and propose solutions.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the manager's discretion

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • Typically 10+ years Experience working with corporate teams to implement controls to address global privacy requirements, including GDPR, CCPA, DPDP Act, and AI laws. - Required
  • Typically 5+ years Experience using OneTrust to document compliance with various privacy laws around data mapping, DPIAs, DSARs, etc. - Required
  • Typically 5+ years Experience assessing and remediating privacy risks - Required
  • Typically 5+ years Experience advising and counseling on privacy issues at all levels of employees - Required
  • Typically 5+ years Experience working with engineering and IT professionals on product development - Required
  • Typically 3+ years Experience using data privacy and GRC tools and platforms, e.g., OneTrust, ServiceNow - Required
  • Typically 3+ years Experience with privacy frameworks such as NIST, SOC, APEC, etc. - Required

Skills And Abilities

  • IAPP Certifications, including CIPP/US
  • Works independently and as a team, exercises good judgment, leads diverse and conflicting priorities and projects in an effective manner.
  • Ability to perform independent research and factual analysis of privacy matters and create proposed solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (oral and written) are required due to the nature of involvement and interaction with colleagues at all levels of the organization

The salary range for this role is $103,700 to $273,700. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.

A candidate’s compensation may also include bonuses consistent with TriNet’s corporate bonus plan.
