Job Description

The Manager, Compliance will provide direct oversight for basic and routine elements of AbbVie’s compliance program related to the Corporate Integrity Agreement. The incumbent is responsible for directing the development and administration of numerous OEC CIA activities, including but not limited to, covered functions / personnel tracking, policy and procedure tracking, training activities project management, and overall project management. The incumbent is responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. The Manager, Compliance performs the following with moderate to significant supervision from Compliance Director:

Responsibilities:

  • Partners with all levels of key divisional business functions to provide basic and routine OEC CIA communications, project management and requirements understanding.
  • Assists with tracking of CIA-related policy and procedure updates to both internal and external suppliers. Manages the CIA covered persons & extended audience information, including training records.
  • With IT partners, develops requirements, tests, launches and sustains process through business ownership of a covered person tracking tool to serve as an adjunct for LERN and HR IT data. Partners with LERN and Corporate IT for CIA Training-related process improvements.
  • Develops sustainable reporting and health metrics tools to trend and communicate CIA project ‘health’ status. Serves as OEC SharePoint administrator for document retention activities.
  • Provides excellent project management services to Sr. Leader, cross functional teams comprised of ECOs, CECO, and Legal counsel. Possesses working knowledge of AbbVie’s business and client areas supported
  • May have direct reports with people management responsibility. Assists in selecting and recruiting team members. Accountable to OEC Director
  • Assigned matters/business units have impact to AbbVie’s compliance program.
  • Operates independently within well-defined expectations, checking in as necessary with supervisor(s).
  • Provides guidance and direction to Coordinators, Compliance Analysts, as needed.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS required. CPA, Master's, JD, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years experience with, or exposure to, business functions such as compliance, legal, regulatory affairs, government affairs, and finance.
  • Project Management experience
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance.
  • Learns, fast, grasps the 'essence' and can change the course quickly where indicated.
  • Raises the bar and is never satisfied with the status quo.
