About the opportunity

Provides legal and administrative support to internal litigation counsel and other members of the internal legal department. Independently resolves routine and complex legal matters under the direct supervision of the paralegal manager and internal litigation counsel.

What you'll get to do

  • Support internal litigation team in relation to, among other things, implementing and managing legal/litigation holds, undertaking and managing eDiscovery, litigation management and administrative tasks associated with supporting this area.
  • Participate in and manage certain other legal projects under supervision of internal legal counsel and paralegal manager.
  • Provide assistance with certain administrative functions, including scheduling of meetings, file organization, and similar tasks.
  • Interact and communicate with members of the legal department, external counsel, and business clients.

Skills and Experience we value

  • Paralegal / Legal Assistant certification required as applicable in the geography in which you are located.
  • Minimum 5 years paralegal or relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department in the area of litigation.
  • Expertise in:
    • implementing and managing legal/litigation holds, preferably through use of Relativity or similar software.
    • identifying, collecting, managing, and producing electronically stored information for litigation.
    • Technical experience and expertise in eDiscovery.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in litigation.
  • Ability to understand legal implications of work performed.
  • Requires analysis and use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Ability to successfully operate in an environment with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet applications, matter management systems and Power Point presentation, legal/litigation hold and eDiscovery software.  Strong interest in using these and other tools to drive increased efficiencies and results.
  • Proactive and innovative:  Seeks out opportunities to resolve problems, fill gaps and develop more efficient and effective methods to respond to the legal needs of the organization.
  • Responsive and Adaptable: Able to respond swiftly and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Act with precision:  Attention to detail required. Demonstrated ability to be fast, accurate and self- managed.
