Responsibilities

Sarah C. Varghese & Associates, a large in-house counsel defense firm and Employees of the Law Department, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company, is seeking a Legal Secretary to join their growing office. We hire the best employees to serve our customers, making us a leader in the insurance and financial services industry. Candidates must be detail-oriented, adaptable, and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced electronic environment. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to calendaring/scheduling for multiple Attorneys, electronic filing with the courts, pulling docket control orders, and routine legal correspondence. This is a hybrid position, working Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs. 

Located in Jericho, NY, we enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented professional work environment with skilled support staff.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience preparing arbitration submissions, answers, motions, calendaring and scheduling 
  • Experience with AAA Arbitrations and New York E-filing procedures and redaction
  • Ability and flexibility to organize, prioritize, and meet critical deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Proficiency in software technology and tools, including Microsoft Suite, Adobe Professional, and case management software
  • Familiarity working in an electronic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Team focused approach to work and willingness to assist others
  • A reputation for high standards in terms of work ethic, professionalism, teamwork, and attitude
  • Potential salary range: $64,857.81-$65,00.00 per year
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 6% of base salary
