Overview

As a Futures Commission Merchant Compliance Vice President, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast paced, rules driven second line of defense function, partnering with multiple business and functional stakeholders throughout the Bank to ensure reasonably designed compliance frameworks for US Futures rules and policies. There will be opportunity to learn and grow in the cleared swap Over-The-Counter (OTC), Swap Dealer and Security Based Swap Dealer space as well and you are a team player who is willing to learn from team members and pitch in to help when needed. You have experience working directly with Regulators and senior executives and you appreciate the importance of managing multiple stakeholders’ interests – you’ve done that before. Your general knowledge of Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) futures rules and US Futures Exchange rules will assist in your interactions with other stakeholders to effectively progress efforts, Your self-discipline and attention to detail will ensure you are able to build your brand as a trusted partner and offer the ability to work independently on your goals, Your subject matter expertise and your curiosity to learn more will ensure that you will thrive among a team of high achievers. What You’ll Do

  • Participate fully in the overall missions of the Chief Administrative Office and Global Compliance Team, including active advisory engagement in any relevant regulatory examinations, inquiries, surveillance queries and subsequent remediation as related to the Business areas in scope for these rules, preparation of relevant rules-based risk assessments, internal or external audits and compliance testing
  • Coordinate ongoing improvements of Deutsche Bank’s Futures Commission Merchant Manual and associated policies, as well as assist when needed for the SD and SBSD Policies and Procedures
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders on the ongoing development of first and second-line (1st Line of Defense(1LOD) and 2nd Line of Defense(2LOD)) controls and surveillance needed for the US Futures rules
  • Partner with the Business Line Compliance Officers, Supervision and Control teams, Chief Operating Officer (COOs), and supervisors to support and enhance day-to-day regulatory advice and training to the Business, infrastructure, and support functions
  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis, reports, memos, or other related documentation related to the internal program, laws, rules, regulations, guidance or best practices and present to senior executives, external stakeholders (including Regulators), and large internal audiences

  • You will have the opportunity to be a leader to junior members of the team by sharing your expertise, developing challenge projects for junior team members, and assisting in their development as a mentor or role model
  • You are prepared to speak with senior management to represent your views in a coherent, clear, accurate, fact-based, and thorough manner so as to help drive top down compliance solutions

Skills You’ll Need

  • At minimum, Moderate of experience in a Compliance or Legal Advisory role advising businesses directly on US Futures regulations and futures commission merchant rules experience are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; JD/MBA a plus but not required
  • Demonstrated understanding of Investment Bank businesses, particularly Fixed Income and Currencies (FIC) businesses
  • Experience preparing materials on and presenting regulatory matters to executive level management and Regulators

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the NYC office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $125,000.00 to $203,000.00. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
