Job Description

We are hiring a full-time Legal Contracts Manager to join the Contracts and Negotiations group focused on cyber security sales agreements, software, SaaS and cloud-enabled manufacturing and operations, and its related services. The Contracts and Negotiations team forms part of the wider Commercial Law department in the Office of the General Counsel.

You will have a sound background in commercial law with a focus on the pre-award phase of contract negotiation together with good drafting and contract analysis experience. And work collaboratively across departments implementing our contracting process while valuing our customers, the pursuit of excellence, speed, integrity, and people.

You will report to our Director Contracts, EMEA, AP and Connected Enterprise Agreements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the negotiation and drafting of cyber security, software, SaaS and related service agreements, subcontracts, and non-disclosure agreements, and master service agreements for the digital transformation of industrial customers.
  • Manage internal communications, facilitate escalations and approvals within the organization, and address queries from our customers.
  • Collaborate and partner with the Departments, Sales, Finance, and other groups of the legal department.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the company on contractual risks, rights, and remedies.
  • Develop and deliver training plans on company contracting processes.
  • Network globally with a diverse and inclusive team of more than 28,000 Rockwell Automation employees.
  • Grow through learning and development of skills.
  • Improve departmental process improvements and project activities.
  • Give our customers a valuable experience.

The Essentials - You Will Have

  • Licensed to practice in Wisconsin or qualify for the In-house Counsel Exemption
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required
  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school is required
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • The ability to travel 15% of the time.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have

  • 5+ years of experience negotiating terms and conditions of sales or purchase contracts.
  • Skills in drafting commercial transactions, including on-prem and SaaS, licensing, support, consulting and professional services.
  • Excellent negotiator with influencing skills that can plan, manage, and conduct negotiations.
  • Experience building professional relationships.
  • Strategic focus and a focus on ethics.
  • Negotiation experience with the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in data privacy and cybersecurity law and negotiating data processing agreements and related information security requirements.
