Overview

Bring your experience as a Privacy Professional to First Citizens Bank! This position reports to the Director, Privacy Advisory and Programs Officer and is responsible for supporting the various advisory and program-based activities in Privacy Compliance, including privacy incident response, global data subject rights, privacy impact assessments and business unit support. This position provides collaborative, enterprise-wide support, working closely with business units to provide effective challenge and subject matter expertise, and tactical guidance to manage privacy risk. To be effective in this role, candidates must have a strong understanding of privacy laws (i.e., GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, TCPA, etc.), and experience analyzing privacy incidents to determine regulatory and customer reporting obligations.

This is a remote role that may be hired in several markets across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Management – Perform privacy impact assessments across the enterprise, product lines, and business functions in accordance with the Bank’s privacy policy, standards, practices, and principles. Identify and assess compliance risks associated with organizational activities, including developing new products, services, client relationships, and business practices.Business Support – Collaborate across functional areas to maintain organizational compliance with privacy laws and practices. Partner in supporting privacy incidents, incident response posture, and strategy. Collaborate with the business to support the fulfillment of enterprise-wide data rights requests. Compliance Improvement - Analyzes external privacy laws and regulations as well as internal processes and systems. Aids the development and revision of policies, procedures, services, products, and systems that support regulatory compliance. Communicates changes to business partners and supports implementation of necessary changes to impacted business areas. May assist special projects or related business initiatives.
  • Reporting - Prepares reports for management on results of compliance reviews, legal changes, or new regulations. Conveys the necessary actions to fulfill regulatory requirements and communicates changes amongst work groups.
  • Compliance Expertise - Maintains a strong knowledge of current or changing privacy laws, regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures that affect assigned area of the Bank. Serves as a resource to management and associates on privacy compliance-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit, Banking

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with privacy regulatory readiness projects and support.
  • CIPP/US or similar certification

The base pay for this position is generally between $88,000 and $140,000. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
