Essential Job Functions

The IP Litigation Paralegal I will support case teams in the IP litigation practice relating to organizing and managing electronic filings in various courts including state, federal and appellate. Responsibilities will include entering calendar deadlines and tracking critical dates. Prioritize and manage multiple projects. Team oriented with a collaborative focus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

Manages and computes deadlines and calendaring of events utilizing legal docketing system.

Research regarding Court Rules and related procedures

Coordinates preparation and filing of legal documents

Attend and support team at trials including all pre-trial tasks

Prepare legal cites for proper format, content and accuracy (Westlaw, Lexis; Blue Book)

Education, Work Experience, Skills

The ideal candidate will possess at least two years of experience focusing on complex litigation cases, including experience with electronic filing. Additional qualifications include solid organizational and communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment. Bachelor’s degree required. Flexibility to accommodate for travel and overtime is required. Applicants in California must meet the California Business and Professional Code, Section 6450 (c) requirements.

_ Familiarity required in the following: MS Office including Excel; DMS; Relativity; Pacer; E-filing (CM/ECF).

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. This range may differ based on your experience and skill set, geographic location, and cost of living considerations. At Kirkland & Ellis, we consider compensation more than just a base salary.   • Los Angeles - $65,000 - $105,000
