A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Corporate Counsel, Product, reports to the Sr. Corporate Counsel, Products & Regulatory, and is responsible for providing legal support of the Company’s global product development and commercialization activities. The Corporate Counsel, Product provides counsel on the laws and regulation relevant to the Companies products and services to relevant stakeholders and helping drive teams toward consensus.

  • Works cross-functionally with other departments including members of R&D, Product Management, Marketing, and Regulatory to ensure timely legal guidance is taken into consideration in the development and commercialization of Company products and services.
  • Drafts terms of service, product policies, and disclosures necessary to support product and other Company initiatives.
  • Reviews, provides guidance, and approves product labeling, advertising and promotional materials, website content, company social media activity, and other external communication for compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Provides input in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, legal guidance documents, and training materials relevant to the development and commercialization of Company products and services.
  • Proactively identifies related business and legal risks and collaborates cross-functionally to offer risk mitigation strategies and creative solutions.
  • Provides input in the development, and helps implement and administer, process improvements and systems for administration of key Legal department responsibilities and product knowledge management program.
  • Works cross-functionally across the Legal Department to provide consistent legal service on cross-functional issues.
  • Manages outside counsel, as needed.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of Legal Department communications and documentation.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT :

  • Law degree (JD or equivalent) with excellent academic credentials and a license to practice in the state of California or licensed in another state and registered as In-House Counsel in California.
  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience with complex commercial transactions, preferably including at least 2 years of in-house experience with a medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotech company.
  • Significant experience with and breadth of knowledge related to the Food Drug and Cosmetic Act.
  • Significant experience with consumer and/or technology law a plus.
  • Working understanding of international, federal, and state rules and regulations applicable to medical device companies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively while handling substantial and diverse work volume and serving as a key contributor for a rapidly growing organization.
  • High level of integrity supported by sound judgment and ethics.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

_The starting base pay range for this position is $180K - $225K annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus, equity, and a robust benefits package.

_ Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts.
