OVERVIEW: Duane Morris LLP, a global law firm with 800+ attorneys in offices across the U.S. and around the world, offers innovative solutions to the legal and business challenges presented by today’s evolving global markets.

SUMMARY: We are seeking a Real Estate Paralegal to provide legal support to assigned attorneys dealing with title/survey review, purchase and sale agreements, affordable housing documents, closing documents, ground leases and other leases, financing documentation, due diligence and related real estate documentation for closings. Other responsibilities will include coordinating with firm administrative personnel of intake of new clients and new matters for existing clients, conflicts clearance and monthly billing. This is a hybrid position requiring three days in the office. The selected candidate must be flexible with this schedule based on the needs of the attorneys.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Assists and supports attorneys with title/survey review, due diligence, signature blocks and signature pages, and closings.
  • Pulls relevant documents, proofreads papers, organizes files and creates document indices and closing transcripts upon the closing of transactions.
  • Researches and files Secretary of State documents related to entity formation
  • Researches real estate law sources such as other state agency websites, legal articles, legal codes, judicial decisions and statutes.
  • Coordinates documentation for affordable housing and other real estate transactions for clients.
  • Collaborates with title companies and surveyors to clear title objections.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Extremely well-organized with the ability to handle detailed work with accuracy.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Team player with a strong desire to contribute to the firm’s success.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent typing skills.
  • Excellent proofreading skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation usage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Commercial real estate, affordable housing, or transactional experience is required.
  • Experience with iManage (electronic document management system) preferred.
