In this position, you will be a member of the TotalEnergies American Services (TEAS) entity. The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the Deputy General Counsel, Ethics and Compliance in providing legal support and risk prevention to TotalEnergies U.S. affiliates (including a rapidly expanding Renewables business), as well as strategic planning and compliance program implementation and enhancements. Core subject matter areas and expertise needed for this position involve data privacy, general ethics and compliance matters as well as trade compliance.
IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctorate Degree from law school accredited by the American Bar Association or foreign equivalent.
- Licensed to practice law within Texas.
- Five or more years of experience practicing law at a company, law firm or government agency, preferably including several of the following:

- Experience with compliance program creation, implementation and continual improvement.
- Expertise in data privacy laws (including GDPR, CCPA and other emerging U.S. laws).

- Knowledge of significant compliance laws (anti-bribery/anti-corruption laws (including FCPA, UK Antibribery Act and Sapin II), anti-trust and competition laws (U.S. and EU), human rights laws).
- Knowledge of trade compliance matters, including economic sanctions, export controls (including EAR, ITAR and licensing), import requirements, anti-boycott regulations, FTAs, FAR/DFARS, FTZs, supply chain security requirements such as CTPAT or AEO, UFLPA, duty drawback.

- This position interacts with executives, all levels of employees and contractors within the global TotalEnergies Company (specifically with executives and managers within the U.S.), as well as with external customers, regulators, consultants and outside counsel.
