Sr. Litigation Attorney-Contract

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Litigation Attorney with expertise in government investigations and second requests for a 3-6 month contract position. As a Litigation Attorney, you will be instrumental in managing and responding to government investigations and second requests. Your role will involve comprehensive legal analysis, document review, and strategic coordination to ensure compliance and mitigate risks associated with regulatory inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

Government Investigation Management:

* Handle and respond to government investigations, subpoenas, and second requests related to regulatory compliance and litigation.


* Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to gather, review, and produce required documents and information.

Legal Research and Analysis:

* Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on issues related to government investigations and second requests.


* Provide clear, concise, and actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders on compliance obligations and legal risks.

Document Review and Production:

* Oversee the document review process, ensuring accurate and timely production of documents in response to government inquiries.


* Utilize electronic discovery (eDiscovery) tools to manage large volumes of documents and data.

Compliance and Risk Mitigation:

* Ensure all responses to investigations and second requests comply with applicable laws and regulations.


* Advise on best practices for maintaining compliance and mitigating legal risks in the context of government inquiries.

Communication and Coordination:

* Serve as the primary point of contact between the company, government agencies, and external counsel.


* Prepare and present detailed reports and updates to senior management on the status and progress of investigations and second requests.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the bar in Texas.

  • 5+ years of experience as a litigation attorney with a focus on government investigations, second requests, and regulatory compliance, preferably within the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the oil and gas sector.

  • Experience with electronic discovery (eDiscovery) processes and tools.

  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
