We are actively seeking Oil & Gas Upstream/Downstream attorneys located anywhere in the United States with the following experience:

Upstream Attorneys Legal Support for Exploration and Production

  • Advise on legal issues related to the exploration and production of oil and gas.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including joint operating agreements, farm-out agreements, and production sharing agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and represent the company in dealings with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and licenses for exploration and production activities.
  • Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes related to upstream activities.
  • Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.

Downstream Attorney: Legal Support for Refining, Distribution, and Sales

  • Provide legal advice on issues related to the refining, distribution, and sale of oil and gas products.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including supply agreements, transportation agreements, and sales contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and interpret relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and represent the company in dealings with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist in obtaining necessary permits and licenses for refining and distribution activities.

Litigation and Dispute Resolution

  • Manage litigation and dispute resolution processes related to downstream activities.
  • Collaborate with external counsel as necessary.

Risk Management

  • Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive solutions to mitigate them.
  • Conduct due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.

Attorney Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience providing legal support and guidance on matters related to our upstream (exploration and production) and/or downstream (refining, distribution, and sales) operations within the energy sector.
  • JD Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active bar license in good standing in the state in which you currently reside.
  • Epiq Counsel partners with industry-leading clients in support of their sophisticated interim talent needs. Must be interested in practicing in an alternative, fixed-term legal services model.
