Job Responsibilities

The Senior Compliance Manager position manages and leads various compliance and regulatory functions within the University Controller’s Office, ensuring adherence to applicable state and federal laws and regulations as well as internal and programmatic requirements and assisting with stakeholder and end user understanding.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA, CGFO, or other relevant certification preferred.
  • PeopleSoft or other ERP experience preferred.
  • Audit and tax experience preferred.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Contract and grant accounting experience preferred, including sponsored awards.

Additional Comments

  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, budgeting, and fiscal management, including contract and grant accounting.
  • Knowledge of higher education and state government fiscal accounting processes.
  • Knowledge of financial analysis.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, records, and reports.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to problem-solve and research effectively.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to identify, research, and implement process improvements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbal and written.
