ZoomInfo is hiring a Privacy Counsel to advise its internal stakeholders on legal and operational questions surrounding data privacy and to promote compliance with global privacy regulations. Reporting to the company’s Senior Privacy Counsel, this role will partner closely with ZoomInfo’s business units to advise on a wide range of privacy issues. The ideal candidate is able to deliver clear, practical advice to our business stakeholders, takes a proactive approach identifying risks and presenting solutions, and has at least four years’ experience applying and advising on international data privacy laws.

What You'll Do

 

  • Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in areas of data privacy and electronic marketing laws and regulations (including U.S. state and federal privacy laws, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, PIPEDA, PECR, and other global privacy and electronic communications laws) and employee data privacy issues.
  • Monitor and understand technological developments, evolving industry standards, and industry guidance that may impact the collection and use of personal data.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of evolving laws, regulations, and industry standards governing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Proactively identify recurring issues and provide guidance pertaining to collection and use of personal data, including job applicant data, employee data, and contractor data.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the company’s products and services to provide guidance on compliance with applicable data privacy, electronic marketing, and AI laws and regulations.
  • Advise on privacy implications and compliance strategies related to new product developments, client and business unit requests, and changes to company practices and workflows.
  • Communicate regarding privacy-related practices and procedures to business units.
  • Explain ZoomInfo’s privacy practices and positions to clients, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate employee privacy documentation and processes, including updating and maintaining employee privacy policies and receiving and processing employee data subject requests received from current or former employees.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor privacy due diligence program, including conducting privacy assessments of vendors, identifying potential privacy risks, developing strategies to mitigate or remove such risks, and providing support in contract negotiations.
  • Perform other tasks or duties as requested by the company’s Senior Privacy Counsel.

What You Bring

 

  • J.D. and a license to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 6 years of legal experience, with 4+ years of direct experience applying and providing guidance on U.S. and European privacy issues
  • CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or other IAPP privacy certifications a plus

Below is the US base salary for this position. Additional compensation such as Bonus, Commission, Equity and other benefits may also apply.

$160,000—$220,000 USD
