Reports Directly To: General Counsel II Segment, IPS

Location: Milwaukee, WI or Rosemont, IL

Scope of role

Looking to make an impact at a growing company guided by strong business values? Regal Rexnord seeks an experienced and practical attorney to join our legal team! While reporting to the General Counsel II Segment, IPS, the Corporate Counsel II will be responsible for providing pragmatic, business-minded, and proactive legal advice on a broad range of commercial and general corporate topics enterprise-wide to all three of Regal Rexnord’s business segments (AMC, IPS, and PES). This role is primarily U.S. focused with opportunity for significant global exposure and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support commercial contract negotiations, including supervising work of less senior team members and ensuring utilization of standard processes.
  • Actively participate in real estate transactions.
  • Provide advice regarding the relocation of operations, environmental/EHS (e.g., OSHA) compliance, and other areas as designated.
  • Advise regarding routine commercial disputes, and partner with legal leadership and Associate General Counsel II – Litigation if disputes escalate to litigation.
  • Assist in developing and implementing policies, procedures, and training programs to drive compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and internal processes.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Compliance, EHS, and Trade Compliance teams.
  • Serve as go-to resource for general, day-to-day legal issues and questions.
  • Actively participate in a collaborative manner in cross-functional business teams to identify, evaluate, and resolve complex business issues and risks.

Professional Experience/Qualifications

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • 4 - 6+ years of corporate generalist and commercial contracts experience at a reputable U.S. law firm or in-house, or a combination of both.
  • Experience with or exposure to IoT/digital, real estate transactions, environmental/EHS, government contracts, IP, litigation, regulatory and/or product compliance, and/or antitrust matters.
  • Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment.
  • Strong and effective drafting skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships.
  • Practical business acumen, driving pragmatic business-oriented solutions.
  • A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach.
  • Accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently.
  • Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once.
  • Must be licensed, and in good standing, to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
