Description for Candidates

Responsible for supporting legal standards and in-house policies for Sports Betting & Entertainment (SB&E) and Lottery offerings. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) of applicable state and federal SB&E and Lottery regulations. Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure the company adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policies supporting Kroger Personal Finance (KPF) offerings. Responsibilities for Candidates

  • Participate in internal cross functional teams related to advancing and the implementation of the SB&E and Lottery strategy
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of compliance policies and procedures to reflect changes in regulations and industry best practices related to KPF SB&E and Lottery offerings
  • Monitor and stay up-to-date with changes in SB&E and Lottery regulations at the local, state, and national levels
  • Provide training and educational programs to employees on compliance matters, responsible gaming, and other relevant topics related to SB&E and Lottery; promote a culture of compliance and ethical conduct within the organization
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, legal counsel, and other internal and external stakeholders to address compliance issues, respond to regulatory inquiries, and participate in regulatory inspections or audits
  • Participate in the completion of risk assessments to identify compliance-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them; collaborate with the risk management team to implement risk mitigation measures
  • Promote responsible gaming practices; develop and implement responsible gaming policies and initiatives to protect vulnerable players
  • Collaborate with internal parties to comment and lobby on federal and state legislative matters; participate in industry forums related to their compliance area
  • Travel independently to industry meetings and various departments/divisions (approximately 25%)

Qualifications for Candidates

MINIMUM

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field such as business, finance, accounting, economics, criminal justice, or risk management; or 5+ years of relevant sports betting compliance or related regulatory role
  • Thorough knowledge sports betting & entertainment and lottery regulations and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of AML, responsible gaming, and data protection principles
  • Highly collaborative individual with the ability to work cross functionally and build strategic and mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and respond to changing business priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize analysis into compelling oral and written communications and presentations
  • Excellent planning, organizing and follow-up skills with attention to detail and through documentation practices
  • Ability to be self-directed and work independently
