Data privacy specialist with ability to also advise on laws and and regulation relevant to security and cyber security. Monitors business, operational and organizational activity and developments to identify, assess and articulate potential regulatory compliance issues and associated risk. Evaluates internal operations, controls, communications and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy provisions, offering recommendations for improvement as necessary. Coordinates and / or performs the preparation of document packages for regulatory submission and in support of internal and external audits and inspections. Serves as point of contact for regulatory and other external parties on data privacy and security law matters. Advises on customer and supplier contracts in respect of data privacy requirements

• Assesses business and commercial direction in terms of potential data privacy risk and compliance issues.
• Formally responds to customers, suppliers, regulatory commissions and other consumer or governmental advocacy groups or agencies in respect of data privacy matters.
• Monitors and advises on legal and regulatory developments related to data privacy and cyber security
• Performs and / or manages performance of compliance focused risk assessments.
• Conducts investigations related to data privacy or security compliance matters.
• Conducts data mapping; data privacy impact assessments; records data privacy processing activities and ensures up to date data privacy policies are in place
• Advises on contractual elements in respect of data privacy
• Advises on data privacy aspects and risks connected to AI

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 7  years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Data Privacy laws and regulations
• Compliance qualifications in data privacy or qualified lawyer
• Experience in building data privacy compliance programs
• Experience in negotiating and drafting contracts related to data privacy
• Good business English skills (Written and spoken).
• Knowledge and experience of US data privacy laws
• Knowledge and experience of EU GDPR

Salary Range: $170,000 to $185,000. Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including your qualifications, skills, competencies and relevant experience. You may also be eligible to participate in a long term incentive plan and a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the plan and/or program, whereby an award, if any, may depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
