Housing Clinic Supervising Attorney Lawyers On Demand, a Consilio company, on behalf of its non-profit legal services client, seeks an attorney to supervise second- and third-year law students in the representation of clients in housing matters in District of Columbia courts. The attorney will also develop and deliver curriculum, including planning and teaching classes in lawyering and advocacy skills, substantive housing law, civil procedure, ethics and professionalism, and systemic advocacy. This is a full-time, hybrid contract assignment for the Fall law school semester with the potential for extension and permanent hire. Requirements:Must have prior litigation experience, excellent communication skills, a client-centered approach to advocacy, and a passion to teach and mentor law students Experience in a legal aid organization, with poverty law, or with housing law—especially in DC, Virginia, and/or Maryland courts—is preferredOpen to practitioners who do not have prior teaching experienceWork is 3 days onsite either at client’s office in downtown DC or in court; there is Monday evening clinical instruction from 5-7pmMust be a member of the District of Columbia bar (preferred) or eligible to waive into the DC barAbility to work in a hybrid capacity for the Fall law school semester (with possibility of extension and permanent hire) The pay range for this position is approximately $40 to $48 per hour. A specific rate of pay for a project will be discussed with you if it is determined that you are a potential fit for a role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
