This role is within the Collins Aerospace Litigation, Labor and Employment Counsel team and reports to the Executive Director of Litigation, Labor and Employment. The position supports from a central perspective all global litigation and arbitration matters at Collins Aerospace, including commercial, product and premises liability, and insurance in coordination with the applicable business unit. This position will principally:
The position is located in Farmington, CT or Charlotte, NC, with significant onsite presence required.
What You Will Do:
Support multiple clients globally across the enterprise including the Collins business unit general counsels and central functions, and the Executive Leadership team on risk mitigation and pre-litigation strategy. Support risk mitigation through proactive advice and support, and training and guidance from lessons learned. Provide clear analysis and direction to position Collins for the most legally defensible position. Oversee active litigation as primary counsel, ensuring that internal and external stakeholders are informed,Recommending and executing legal strategy in coordination with business objectives,Establishing and managing legal budgets and managing outside legal resourcesProviding internal support to outside legal resources to assist in defending or prosecuting the claim. Perform litigation support tasks including support on subpoena responses, internal fact development and interviews, and support electronic document discovery. Must be willing and able to travel 10% of the time
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 18 years of relevant experience Must have a Juris Doctor (JD) & be admitted to practice before a State Bar. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 5+ years experience in a law firm litigation practice; including complex disputes, experience in the courtroom, advising clients and handling electronic discovery.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Must be able to effectively communicate legal strategy to a wide variety of stakeholders, and work collaboratively with legal and non-legal colleagues. In- house and industry experience (especially aerospace) Experience handling commercial contract disputes and/or product liability matters. Experience handling multi-jurisdictional and/or international matters. Experience handling regulatory matters.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
