Job Overview
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is actively seeking a skilled Project Manager specialist contractor for a 12-month engagement within the Engineering Application Services and the Engineering Design and CADD Services Team. This role plays a crucial part in managing multiple ongoing technical projects while also contributing to the formulation of various technical guidelines and workflows essential for enhancing Preconstruction Engineering Design and CADD business processes throughout the transportation lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Decompose complex tasks into clearly defined, manageable work items for ongoing technical projects.Prioritize and track the progress of work items and deliverables.Ensure timely completion and high-quality delivery of work items, complete with excellent documentation.Develop and uphold CADD guidelines and workflows to support the Department’s administration and use of Bentley and other CADD Systems.Document program and project deliverables as assigned.Work collaboratively with clients to ensure streamlined business processes.Create and deliver training materials as required.Maintain quality control for the overall team register of project tasks and deliverables.
Required Skills
A minimum of three years of experience in project management related to IT initiatives and programs.Demonstrated ability to write clear and concise technical training materials and user documentation.Strong analytical and conceptual capabilities.Excellent interpersonal skills, fostering positive collaborations.Proficient in written and verbal communication, able to articulate business processes to diverse audiences.Exceptional organizational and presentation skills.High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Familiarity with the application development life cycle.
Qualifications
At least three years of relevant experience in project management and technical documentation.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
