D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Region Paralegal . The right candidate will support the Region Counsel in managing responsibilities of Legal Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist the Region Counsel in managing regional litigation. Prepare and maintain database of Region litigation matters; update daily
- Manage the litigation calendar and litigation case files
- Under the guidance of Region Counsel, review marketing programs and materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Prepare and maintain contractor’s licenses and real estate licenses for division offices
- Prepare and maintain lease database for regional and division offices
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
- Ability to work overtime
- Ability to travel overnight
- Assist the Region Counsel with special projects, responding to discovery requests, and addressing homeowner and warranty requests
- Process Fictitious Business Name Statements for division offices on an as-needed basis
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or six or more years of related experience and/or training
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
- Proficiency with MS Office and email
- Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
- The noise level is generally moderate
