Join us and make an impact today!POSITION PURPOSE: Provide legal counsel on a variety of legal matters to CIM Principals and employees but primarily the position will have responsibility for a variety of legal real estate-related matters, with a focus on supporting (i) the net lease portfolio and (ii) CIM’s growing real estate credit business. RESPONSIBILITIES:LEGAL COUNSEL:Structuring, drafting, negotiating and counseling on a broad range of contract transactions for the Company’s net lease portfolio and real estate credit business including, managing legal aspects of real estate purchase, sale, leasing and lending transactionsInterfacing with and providing legal advice to investments, portfolio oversight, property management, leasing, accounting, financial reporting and compliance staff as necessary with respect to net lease portfolio and real estate credit business. Actively managing internal legal resources and outside counsel relationshipsManaging and resolving property-level legal issues, including landlord/tenant disputes, REA and loan compliance, condemnations and third-party litigation. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversee outside counsel. Oversee paralegals and administrative staff in the formation, maintenance and dissolutions of entities and their assistance with purchase and sale transactions and financingsOversee and supervise paralegals and administrative staff including, but not limited to: assigning work, providing performance feedback and coaching, monitoring work schedule, assisting in determining work priorities, and providing training as necessary.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)Juris Doctorate At least five years' experience in the Real Estate Department of a medium to large law firm or other relevant in-house experienceLicensed to practice law in California or Arizona

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Review and negotiate corporate level agreements and provide legal counsel on the sameWork on corporate and fund level projects as directed by the Chief Legal Officer or General Counsel-Public FundsLegal support as needed for a variety of business initiatives of the Company and its funds
