Primary RoleGeneral Microsoft Office Suite experience.Thorough Microsoft Office Suite experience, DocuSign, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, SAP.Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker experience.Serves as a member of the legal team and supports attorneys in building the capabilities of the team.Assists in the preparation and review of contracts and other legal documents as directed to ensure that the best interests of the business are protected.Review acquisition and sale transaction documents, including real property information; draft documents under the direction of the lead attorney; assist in due diligence, with particular emphasis on real property issues (Pennsylvania and New Jersey).Conduct research of land and property tax records and review title reports of company owned property and easements as necessary for acquisition and sale transactions, as well as other business transactions.Maintains files, document repositories, reports, etc. with attention to confidential materials.Able to monitor PUC calendar; coordinate and plan schedules with PUC docket office and staff to ensure required attendance at public meetings, hearings and workshops; prepare and distribute meeting agendas and applicable supporting materials and resources.Manages company records, including permanent, historical corporate and real property documents, in accordance with the company’s records retention policy and practice.Manages state employee PAC records and provides quarterly reporting to the Ethics Commission.Supports corporate governance efforts, including board matters such as meetings, resolutions, minutes, as well as reporting and disclosures including tax related annual reports for state entities.Demonstrated understanding of the business and organizational structure.Demonstrated ability to prioritize workflow and meet assigned deadlines.Under direction of an attorney, assists in the preparation of matters for legal action, conducts assigned legal research, gathers information, and assists in the preparation of legal documents.Demonstrated understanding of the business and organizational structure and advanced knowledge of key stakeholders within designated areas of responsibility.Serves as administrative and business support subject matter expert.Entrusted to maintain confidential labor and employment files, internal legal, vital company records, and/or compliance reports.Gathers information responsive to subpoenas.Prepares materials for attorney use at meetings, conferences, interviews, hearings and court appearances.Assists at trial by organizing exhibits and taking notes of the proceeding to provide feedback to the attorney.Solid knowledge of litigation support and case management, including trial preparation.Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including licenses, option agreements, non- disclosure agreements, promotion agreements, consulting agreements and telecom leases.Assist in the preparation of detailed draft responses to discovery requests, including interrogatories, requests for production of documents, and requests for admissions. Coordinate the preparation of final responses with in-house and outside counsel.Familiarity with litigation support duties at both the trial and appellate level in state and federal courts. Knowledge/SkillsVisible leadership skills and executive presence.Able to quickly finalize briefs (cite check, Shepard's, TOC, TOA) under pressure and coordinate filings under tight deadlines.Demonstrated public utility commission knowledge and ability to translate and explain related concepts and requirements to others.Reviews proposed rules, regulations and legislation for the purpose of determining their validity, sufficiency and propriety.Investigates complex business information for departmental area/function, e.g., benefits, legal, property and/or franchise rights, rates.Knowledge of the design and production of complex spreadsheets, reports, and presentations using multiple informational resources. Experience/Education10+ years of legal experience.Experience in multiple disciplines.Able to train secretaries, paralegals, and new attorneys.Bachelor’s degree preferred in any associated discipline or a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA accredited Program.
