Description
Amazon’s Legal Department is seeking a smart, experienced, and highly motivated attorney with experience in competition law and policy to help manage its worldwide portfolio of regulatory matters.
Responsibilities include managing and supervising domestic and international disputes and risk areas, including worldwide competition; coordinating strategy across multiple teams; directly engaging with government officials, including regulators; assessing risk and coordinating with senior leadership on risk management; and providing advice and counsel to internal stakeholders on a broad spectrum of complex and often novel legal and policy issues.
The position is based either in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA.
Candidates must be willing to travel and work extended hours when necessary.
Basic Qualifications
Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent 5+ years of litigation, regulatory legal practice, or competition policy experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience of a mix of law firm and in-house work or other competition policy experience 8+ years of litigation and regulatory experience Broad experience advising on domestic and international competition litigation, regulatory, or policy issues Federal judicial clerkship

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
