Global Payments Inc. (NYSE: GPN), a leading worldwide provider of payment technology services that delivers innovative solutions driven by customer needs, seeks a technology or corporate attorney to join its legal team in Atlanta, Georgia. This attorney will primarily support modernization and cloud migration within the TSYS Issuer Solutions segment by drafting and negotiating technology agreements to support the rollout of cloud-based issuer solutions, as well as advising and supporting the TSYS Issuer Solutions sales and internal business teams. Additional responsibilities may include negotiating technology, professional services, referral, and outsourcing vendor agreements that support TSYS Issuer Solutions infrastructure, products, and services and advising internal business clients with regard to operational and commercial legal and regulatory issues. The position reports to the Vice President and Senior Associate General Counsel and provides regular interaction with C-Suite executives, TSYS Issuer Solutions leadership, and Global Payments Legal leadership. What Part Will You Play?

  • Structures, drafts, and negotiates complex technology services agreements and related contract documents for modernization and cloud migration of IT systems for the TSYS Issuer Solutions segment.
  • Provides day-to-day support for cloud “modernization” project, product development, and sales functions.
  • Considers and advises with regard to applicable regulatory (banking, privacy, data localization, etc.) requirements (US, Americas, Europe) in conjunction with the foregoing.
  • Handles other general corporate work as necessary.

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years relevant experience in legal practice at a high-quality law firm, in-house legal position or both; member in good standing of at least one state bar; law degree from a top-tier law school.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structuring, drafting, and negotiating moderate to complex technology, payment, or financial services transactions
  • Experience advising corporate clients
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

  • Experience with agreements for services provided from public cloud computing environments and/or for public cloud computing services
  • Experience advising product or technology teams
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations generally applicable to payment or financial services providers
  • Familiarity with payment regulations in Latin America and/or the EU
  • Experience with information security standards and data privacy regulations
