In-House ParalegalReporting to General CounselLocation: Orange, CTWork Type: Office The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $69,260 to $86,576 Job DescriptionThe In-House Paralegal will assist the company's legal department in various ways on a wide range of issues. The ideal candidate should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational skills essential for day-to-day tasks. Primary ResponsibilitiesSupport internal legal team of 5-7 attorneys.Assist with the management of litigation matters, including communication and collaboration with outside counsel, organizing documents, and maintaining litigation databases.Support the business with research projects, contract review and negotiations, and the drafting of agreements, documents for filings, and letters on a variety of issues, including FERC, regulatory, transactional, and real estate matters.Handle contracts such as confidentiality agreements, professional service contracts, and letter agreements.Support regulatory work for electric and gas utilities, including assisting with rate cases, preparing regulatory filings, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Skills/AbilitiesAbility to work accurately in an environment with deadlines.Ability to work independently.Ability to handle several projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Required Qualifications:Associate's Degree or higher in Paralegal Studies or a relevant field of study plus 7+ years of experience.Experience at a law firm with 10+ attorneys or in the legal department of a large company.Knowledge and experience in conducting legal research and use of generative AI tools for research and writing.Proficiency in legal research databases (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis).Familiarity with document management systems.Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with case management software.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and presentation purposes. Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies or relevant field of study with 7+ years of experience.Litigation or regulatory administrative law focus preferred.Six Sigma or Lean training or certification preferred.
