Your Role

The Senior Legal Counsel (Director) will support both the strategy and daily operations of the VS&Co Global Privacy team. In this role, the Senior Legal Counsel will work on matters related to data privacy and cybersecurity, e-commerce, privacy-related marketing (e.g., TCPA, CAN-SPAM), and payments compliance. The Senior Legal Counsel will work closely with other members of the Global Privacy team, as well as other members of the broader Legal team and business partners throughout the organization, including members of the Technology, Digital, Marketing, International, Human Resources, and Stores teams, as well as outside counsel.

Your Impact

 

  • Develop and maintain collaborative, cross-functional relationships with business partners across the organization
  • Serve as a strategic and practical expert on privacy laws, regulations and industry standards both in the U.S. and abroad
  • Provide practical, business-minded legal advice and partner with stakeholders to identify creative solutions to mitigate risk
  • Collaborate with other members of the Global Privacy team and cross-functional partners to support compliance with privacy requirements, including distilling complex legal requirements into practical business requirements
  • Review, negotiate and/or advise on privacy and data-related provisions in commercial agreements
  • Assist with the development and delivery of training to relevant teams on privacy legal requirements
  • Manage litigation related to privacy legal requirements
  • Proactively monitor evolving privacy laws and requirements and their impact to VS&Co

Minimum Salary: $138,000.00

Maximum Salary: $195,825.00

VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications

Your Experience

 

  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience at law firm and/or in house privacy support
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • CIPP certification strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of US Privacy laws and other major global privacy legislative frameworks, demonstrating proficiency in navigating increasingly complex privacy regulations
  • Solid understanding of the interplay between privacy and technology, showcasing an ability to address privacy concerns in the rapidly evolving technology landscape
  • Positive, optimistic outlook that thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, often ambiguous environment
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to explain complex concepts effectively to business teams
  • Solution and results oriented, with the ability to prioritize and deliver key initiatives
