Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director, EHS and Quality Center of Excellence, this exciting and visible leadership role will be responsible for planning and execution of varied high value responsibilities across a global region including Momentive and International Management Systems Standards program development and implementation (ISO 14001 and Responsible Care; ISO 9001and IATF16949 coordination, and others as need arises) consistent with the company’s objectives. This person will act as a technical expert, providing specific guidance on technical matters across the globe and will collaborate closely with multiple other functions throughout the organization to manage and execute projects in a manner that addresses business needs. The Global Governance and Compliance Leader is responsible for providing oversight of the company’s EHS legal compliance and management system conformance.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead EHS management systems certification process globally for multi-site ISO 14001 and Responsible Care.  Support quality systems development and implementation (ISO9001, IATF 16949, and others, as needed)

  • Lead Global EHS audit program and support Global Quality audit program, as needed.  This includes performing audits, analysis of audit results, and creating visibility to and communications of these results.  Administration and review and continuous improvement of the audit program are also critical elements of responsibility.

  • Develop vision and strategy for both short-term and multiyear Information and Communications, including the EHS Management System Webinar Series, EHS Learning and Improvement Review, EHS newsletter content, and other key EHS and Quality communications.

  • Facilitate the company’s Safety Culture efforts.  Champion the establishment and reinforcement of the right safety values, beliefs, and attitudes within the workforce to develop an interdependent safety culture. Create, partner with and involve others in culture program development and educational efforts. Confer as necessary with various functional heads to further the interests of establishing the desired safety culture in their areas.

  • Lead critical multi-functional Information systems development, deployment, and continuous improvement (Gensuite, Sharepoint, EON, etc.)  Support implementation of digital solutions (GLIMS, Cority eMOC, etc.) and support maintenance of solutions once implemented

  • Lead and coordinate the company’s EHS, Quality, CI awards and recognition programs, partner with Human Resources in the development and use of company rewards and recognition programs

  • Provide oversight and direction to ensure EHS and Quality training content is reliably available to the global organization and is able to be effectively tracked.  Develop and deliver training to a global audience on relevant functional and digital solution topics.

  • Provide oversight and direction for the development and delivery of critical metrics for EHS, CI and Quality. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT  

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear, use hands to type, handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. Visual acuity to use a keyboard, prepare and analyze data and figures, transcribe, view a computer terminal, and do extensive reading. May require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and move a light to medium weight. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and learn technical information. Light lifting is required.

Qualifications:

The following are required for the role

  • BS Degree in relevant technical discipline. 

  • 10-15 years’ experience in chemical/industrial environment preferred. This role must a have a mature and experienced leader to be successful.

  • 5 years EHS auditing experience

  • Strong leadership, influencing and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communications skills with both internal and external personnel.   Ability to collaborate in a global organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to generate and drive significant performance and process improvements.

  • Proven experience in development of communications planning and execution

  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including the ability to prioritize, balance and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, adjust to changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy based on available information. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, team player, capable of working within globally diverse, cross-functional, internal and external teams across different time zones with ability to effectively influence others to action.

  • Unquestioned ethics and integrity including the ability to work on confidential matters.

  • Strong Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Gensuite etc.)

  • Strong change management skills and experience.

  • Demonstrated capability and passion to learn new skills

The following are preferred for this role

  • MS Degree in relevant technical professional discipline

  • Environmental compliance and management systems experience

  • Black/Green Belt Certification

  • Lead EHS Auditor experience

  • Quality Systems auditing experience

  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a matrix organization.

  • Proven experience creating an empowered culture.

What We Offer:

Base Pay Range: $104,000 - $152,350

The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Additionally, this role is eligible for incentive or sales variable compensation payments. The amount of these incentives is based on the terms of the Company's incentive plans, the Company's financial performance, and/or individual employee job performance.
