The Fair Lending Paralegal assists leaders on the Legal/Compliance team by performing a variety of legal and/or legal support duties, including reviewing and responding to employment related matters, assisting Operations, Closing and Post Closing when legal or contractual interpretations arise (e.g., reviewing trusts, divorce decrees, leases, stock compensation, title commitments, etc.), conducting legal research, preparing and reviewing pleadings, contracts and other documents, assisting with title related issues, and tracking and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requests.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Reviewing and responding to legal documents including pleadings, EEOC and similar claims, contracts, judgements, leases, trust agreements and assignments
  • Reviewing, monitoring and responding to subpoenas and other discovery requests
  • Researching and analyzing statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, legal articles and other relevant informational sources
  • Handling guideline issues that have legal nuances, including trusts, leases, and stock compensation issues
  • Preparing written correspondence with outside counsel and other third-parties, including responses to complaints
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
  • Editing legal documents for accuracy
  • Providing training to Paralegals on the Legal/Compliance team
  • Assisting with issues related to MERS, servicing, marketing reviews, settlement agent oversight, title claims and other title related issues
  • Supporting with licensing issues and regulatory filings
  • Other duties as assigned

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate
  • Fair Lending experience
  • Experience performing legal research
  • Project mangement experience 
  • Must possess excellent written communication skills
  • Have a commitment to continuous business improvement
  • Onsite attendance required
