This position supports the US Senior Legal Counsel providing legal advice and legal support on various issues. The position has a heavy emphasis on labor and employment, providing daily legal advice on various labor and employment law matters, policies, and disputes, and interfacing the Human Resources Department and other management with respect to labor and employment issues and risks, including global employee data privacy.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with the US Senior Legal Counsel and US Human Resources Department on legal, commercial, regulatory, operational and legal compliance issues related to labor and employment law matters, including global employee data privacy.

- Assist in the negotiation and drafting of various employee and HR contracts and policies.

- Interface with management and various business groups to provide legal advice on a wide range of employment and labor law matters, policies, contracts, disputes, and litigation.

- Develop and implement legal strategies and procedures to minimize employment-related risks, litigation, disputes, and related issues.

- Research and provide guidance on relevant legal and regulatory issues, and assist the organization to maintain compliance with statutes, regulations, and industry rules.

- Manage outside counsel on various matters, including labor and employment-related litigation.
- Conduct and support in-house labor and employment-related investigations.

- Provide support for special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills Required
- Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and membership in at least one US state bar.

- Minimum 5 years of legal experience. Inhouse experience preferred, but not required.
|
- Working knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations at the state and federal levels; California experience preferred but not required.
- Global employee data privacy and traditional labor law experience preferred, but not required.

- Must be able to read, write and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to effectively perform the job duties. Additional languages preferred, but not required

- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

- Must have strong research, drafting and negotiation skills.
|
- Must have high level of integrity, discretion, judgment and the ability to work independently.
|
- Must have strong independent judgment and decision-making skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

- Must be able to use applicable computer software as needed.

Physical Requirements
- The ability to work in an office environment and at the computer and monitor for long periods of time while remaining alert.

- The ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
