Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Mirth Interface Engine Specialist to join our team on a 1-year hybrid contract basis in Raleigh, NC. This role will be pivotal in enhancing the quality of clinical data and electronic health record systems, acting as a Subject Matter Expert and a crucial liaison between healthcare providers and the Health Information Exchange (HIE).
Key Responsibilities
Serve as an expert in clinical data and electronic health records, ensuring the highest data quality standards.Utilize Mirth Interface Engine, Intersystems HealthShare Health Insight, HealthShare Clinical Viewer, and SAS technologies to support initiatives within the North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority.Facilitate the day-to-day operations to ensure NC HealthConnex data is in a usable format and guide standards for data submissions.Define and implement data quality guidelines and processes while monitoring the effectiveness of tools used for data quality enhancement.Collaborate with participants and vendors to address data quality issues and track progress through the NC HealthConnex ticketing system.Actively participate in meetings, providing updates and reporting results to the team as necessary.
Required Skills
Profound understanding of healthcare IT architectural principles and specifications.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially when interacting with non-technical stakeholders.Strong analytical mindset with proven problem-solving abilities.In-depth knowledge of clinical data, electronic health records, HL7 v2 (especially ADT data), and C-CDA messages.Minimum of 3 years experience working with electronic health record data, with a focus on Admission, Discharge, and Transfer (ADT) processes.Proficient in running and modifying basic SQL queries and documenting processes and requirements.Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance related to EHR systems and HIE.Skilled in Microsoft Office tools including Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.Understanding of clinical data flow within Intersystems HealthShare and EHRs.Familiarity with relational databases and enterprise systems.Experience in creating training materials based on clinical data trends.Direct clinical experience or experience with clinical applications is preferred.
