About The Role

Newmont is seeking a visionary leader to elevate the maturity and performance of our Legal function across our global portfolio. As the SVP Deputy General Counsel (Group Head), Corporate Advisory & Litigation, you will:

Strategize for the Future: Develop and execute a 3–5-year vision to transform the Legal function, ensuring alignment with Newmont’s corporate and business objectives. Lead with Impact: Integrate and oversee disciplines across litigation, sustainability, employment law, environmental law and corporate advisory issues, unifying a team of experts to deliver exceptional legal support. Drive Innovation: Introduce leading-edge technologies, best practices, and benchmarking initiatives that redefine how legal services are delivered globally. Be a Trusted Advisor: Advise the Chief Legal Officer, executive leadership, and Board of Directors on key litigation and corporate legal matters. Enhance Performance: Set standards for legal systems, tools, and workflows, while monitoring and reporting on key performance metrics to ensure transparency and accountability. Foster Efficiency: Establish a regional operations program to drive process improvements and implement best practices across regions that enhance operational efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

We’re Seeking a Visionary Leader With

Education: JD or LLM from an accredited law school. Proven experience leading legal operations in a global, complex organization. Exceptional ability to formulate and execute strategic roadmaps and building systems, standards and tools to elevate the performance of the legal function Expertise in litigation management, sustainability, employment law, and corporate legal advisory. A passion for innovation, driving efficiency, and developing high-performing teams. The ability to cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, legal counsel, and industry peers.

The salary range offered for this role is USD $210,100 to $315,000. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience. The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance. This role also will be eligible for participation in a discretionary long-term incentive program, pursuant to which an employee may receive awards based on their level and individual performance.
