JOB TITLE: IP Docketing SpecialistOVERVIEW: Duane Morris LLP, a global law firm with 900 + attorneys in offices across the U.S. and around the world, offers innovative solutions to the legal and business challenges presented by today’s evolving global markets.SUMMARY: Provides patent and trademark docketing support to various teams within the Intellectual Property Practice Group.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Calendars dates in connection with patent and trademark application filings, formalities, office actions, maintenance feesDownloads electronic correspondence from USPTO, foreign patent offices, or foreign agents and file into document management systemCirculates incoming correspondence from USPTO, foreign patent offices, or foreign agents to appropriate attorney teamsPrepares firm-standard and custom docket reportsProactively monitors due dates to ensure deadlines are timely metReviews outstanding dates in docketing database, consult with supervisor, and advance or de-docket as instructedOpens and closes matters in docketing database as needed ·Assists with intakes and transfers in connection with new clients, attorney hires, attorney departures, or change in counselParticipates in IP practice group and docketing team meetingsProvides back-up support to other docketers as neededPerforms other tasks as assignedPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: High school diplomaAt least 3 years of prior IP docketing or related work experience requiredThorough understanding of domestic and foreign patent and trademark prosecution and lifecycles (Nonprovisional, Provisional, PCT, Madrid Protocol)Familiarity with various patent and trademark offices (USPTO, WIPO)Knowledge of docketing terminology, best practices, and patent & trademark lawsAbility to independently determine priority dates, calculate due dates, and verify terms in docketing databaseExperience working with docketing databases required, Patricia preferredExperience navigating patent and trademark office websites such as EFS-Web, Public PAIR, Private PAIR, TEAS, TSDRStrong computer skills with the ability to manipulate and analyze dataDemonstrated attention to detail, time management skills, problem-solving mindset, and collaborative spiritBENEFITS:Comprehensive healthcare, dental, vision, and prescription plans.Commuter, HSA and FSA spending accountsShort-term and long-term disability and life insurance coverage401k and Pension Plan20 vacation days, 11 paid holidaysEmployee Referral Bonus ($3,000.00)EEO STATEMENT: Duane Morris is an equal opportunity employer.
