Primary Purpose:

The Compliance Associate Analyst is part of the Compliance Department within the Legal Department.  The primary goal is to ensure the company complies with the industry’s laws and regulations by examining practices and polices, track compliance issues and maintain, develop, and improve the Compliance Program.    

 

Position Description:

Candidate duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain and implement policies and procedures to ensure the Business Units are in compliance with external rules and regulations (primarily from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), but also from other federal agencies), as well as internal policies and procedures (such as the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, O&M procedures, HR policy manual, and Information Governance policies).
  • Help drive consistency in compliance and documentation across regions and business units as appropriate.
  • Ability to organize, schedule, and prioritize departmental and individual work to meet various schedules and objectives.
  • Capable of multi-tasking, reprioritizing on short notice, detail orientated with strong attention to details, and successfully tracking to meet deadlines.
  • Good judgment and analytical skills, with the ability and individual initiative to solve issues and achieve resolutions.
  • Excellent customer service skills and capable of working with a variety of business units and different functions within those business units.  Must also be able to work with all levels of management.
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Provide administrative support as necessary: maintain the Compliance network drive, website and SharePoint site, maintenance and upkeep of Compliance documents, supporting the Chief Compliance Officer in preparation for meetings or presentations including preparation of handouts and documenting attendance, managing the Learning Management System with current and new trainings.
  • Ability to work individually, with a team, and remote supervision.

 



Position Requirements:

  • A bachelors’ degree and at least two years of experience in Compliance or a similar field is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint) is required.  Experience with or a desire to learn other technology platforms for the development of employee trainings. 
  • Background in either the Energy industry, or compliance or audit experience would be beneficial.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Based in KM corporate office in Houston, Texas
  • Hybrid Schedule alongside a 9/80 work week are available options and may be required to work non-traditional hours
  • The successful candidate will be required to clear a non-DOT drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

 

Based in KM Level and Salary

Position level and compensation will be based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
