The Legal Support Specialist 3 provides legal support to the Citi Litigation team covering the Banking, Markets, Services, and Wealth lines of business.. The team handles the defense of litigation in North America, including securities actions, antitrust actions, commercial disputes, and derivative actions in federal and state courts, in arbitrations before FINRA or the AAA, and in regulatory investigations and inquiries, and responds to grand jury subpoenas and non-party civil subpoenas concerning the relevant businesses. Team members work closely with colleagues in other regions around the globe and with the U.S. Personal Banking Legal team on cross-border and cross-affiliate issues that require collaboration and coordination. This role in particular focuses on intake management, which includes new matter inputting, routing and tracking. It requires a pragmatic, proactive professional with the ability to work closely with other legal team.
Responsibilities:
Works with multiple teams within Legal to identify, process, and track new Litigation matters, and assists with the administrative aspects of assigning new matters to individual attorneys and paralegals, as well as opening, maintaining, and searching those matters in our systemMaintains detailed records, creates, prepares and processes legal documentation under direction of counselResponsible for legal support activities related to legal operations, litigation, discovery or settlementsWorks closely with team managers and legal peers to complete tasks assignedReviews, processes and tracks legal documentation and matter informationPrepares reports and conducts administrative legal work, including contributing to the collection of data for reports to regulators, third parties and the business
Qualifications:
2-5 years of relevant industry experience, preferably with some experience working in a corporate legal department or law firmAbility to manage complex documentation with organization and detailProficient in Microsoft Office: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OutlookMust possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as project management skillsKnowledge of legal customs and practicesKnowledge and understanding of the financial services industry
