Project Manager, Litigation

The Project Manager will support the Sr Staff Project Manager and Litigation team by managing cost control, tracking, and reporting along with other tasks related to legal project management.
What You’ll Do
- Utilize proven project management techniques to support the efficient management of costs of the legal team including budgeting and monitoring; develop and lead training and implementation of project management systems
- Provide key information and reports on the status of projects to the litigation team leadership
- Work closely with the attorneys on developing budgets, cost saving methodologies and staffing strategies
- Coordinate and partner with the litigation team and Finance to manage overall spend
- Track projects with budget vs. actual spend that accounts for nuance and context beyond financial data
- Identify opportunities to improve the creation of budgets and use of budget tracking for matters; develop and refine RFP process focusing on external counsel spend
- Any other assigned projects/tasks as assigned
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in a business-related field; 8+ years of project coordinating, project analyst, or project management experience in professional services (legal industry experience is a plus)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement initiatives and knowledge management projects; and, where appropriate, develop and promote best practices - ability to interpret data effectively and present findings to management and attorneys using data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI) is a plus
- Employ a strong understanding of financial terms and metrics with the ability to adjust necessary levers to improve client and matter performance
- A proactive self-starter, with a drive to grow and enhance the function; ability to develop, refine, and improve utilization of project management tools; high degree of efficiency and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint; exceptional attention to detail in a high-pressure environment amidst tight timelines
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
- Highly effective creating business process and procedures; financial modeling experience and ability to maintain complex spreadsheets (use of formulas, sophisticated data presentation, pivot tables, dashboards, etc.)
- Optimizing work flow; strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; excellent analytical and creative problem-solving abilities; comfortable with analyzing and managing data
