The Corporate Counsel plays a critical role in negotiating and advising on contracts across Clark’s projects. This role will serve as a partner to leaders across the business, also working with outside counsel where appropriate.
Responsibilities
Analyze, review and draft contracts (construction contracts, subcontracts, and other miscellaneous agreements)Lead negotiation efforts to achieve contract terms consistent with Clark’s corporate standards.Provide legal guidance to corporate leadership on various business and industry related mattersProvide training within the organization on a variety of legal topics, with a focus on commercial contract mattersDevelop enterprise contract standards and risk mitigation strategiesCultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadershipCultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. Basic Qualifications
Juris doctorate degree required with an active bar membership5 - 7 years of experience representing clients in contract negotiationsConstruction law experience is a plus but not requiredStrong interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate effectively with others all levels of the organizationAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: Self-Motivated, Results Oriented, Adaptable, Team Player, Accountable, Ethical, Innovative, Resilient, Builds Relationships, Builds People / Teams & Followership, Sets Direction & Executes
