Job Summary: We’re seeking a Junior Collections Counsel with an interest in fast-paced litigation to join our Legal Department. In addition to working with other lawyers in the Legal Department, this role will work directly with the Credit and Accounts Receivable departments in a high-volume litigation practice recovering unpaid accounts for the Company nationwide. We are looking for someone with a drive to engage in all aspects of litigation practice including drafting pleadings and motions, attending regular dockets, motion hearings and trial practice. Duties/Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and deliver demand letters to customersManage cases from the initial filing to execution of final judgmentPrepare accounts for suitE-Filing cases on the state’s case filing system and other data entry functionsDraft and review legal documents such as petitions, affidavits, discovery requests and responses, judgments, executions, liens, garnishments, etc.Appear for dockets and argue motions before the courtField phone calls from customers to assist with collection efforts and coordinate payment arrangementsCommunicate with local court clerks, process servers, and sheriffsResearch state statutes for various related legal issues such as local collections laws, liens, garnishments, levies, etc.

Education And Experience

Law degree from an accredited universityAdmission to the Missouri BarAdmission to other state bars preferred but not requiredCollections experience preferred but not requiredAt least 1-4 years litigation experience preferred
