Program Manager - Legal Services Billing and Pricing, Legal Outside Counsel Management

Description

We are looking for a talented legal operations program manager with a passion for legal services billing and vendor management. Amazon’s Outside Counsel Management (OCM) team is responsible for managing Amazon Legal’s relationships, pricing, budgeting, spend, billing, and value assessment with outside law firms and legal service providers globally.

We are looking for candidates who are innovative, progressive, hands-on, and customer-obsessed with a strong understanding of legal billing and pricing processes.

This position requires strong judgment and practical thinking, the ability to find effective solutions when faced with uncertainty, a passion for operations and process improvement, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

Address legal billing escalations, and lead on more complex strategic legal billing initiatives related to streamlining and automating our processes and ensuring compliance with our requirements.

Define business and systems requirements working with internal and external customers.

Develop change processes associated with program rollout and ongoing support. Design and implement: fixed fee pricing models; innovative strategies for scoping, pricing, and monitoring budgets on large matters; and new approaches to measuring the value of legal services.

Translate data into actionable insights for key program stakeholders.

Handle special projects such as integrating corporate subsidiaries into our processes, addressing engagement agreement issues, and overseeing law firm security compliance.

Support Amazon’s legal service preferred provider program where needed.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of program or project management experience 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience 3+ years of driving process improvements experience Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
