Posted Nov 08 Full TimeHybridLos Angeles, California We’re Looking For A: Sr. Director, Legal (Corporate & Commercial) to lead the Corporate and Commercial pillars of Golden Hippo’s Legal team by designing, executing, supporting and enhancing team processes as we evolve the Legal function to scale with our growing vertically integrated consumer products business.
Location: Hybrid (Office located in Woodland Hills, CA)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage all corporate affairs of Golden Hippo, including board and shareholder meetings, subsidiary formation and governance, financings, and our Employee Stock Ownership Plan and similar programs in collaboration with our People team.
- Draft, revise and negotiate commercial contracts, including SaaS/software agreements, staffing agreements, consultant agreements, lease agreements, manufacturing agreements, retail agreements and promotional services agreements with our product “gurus”.
- Serve as a key partner to the business by guiding product development and marketing activities in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including in relation to the marketing and sale of our products internationally and via new retail channels.
- Lead, develop and manage a three-person team supporting contracts administration and product & marketing advice and counseling.
- Manage workflow and bandwidth across the team to meet internal and external stakeholder needs, including coordinating with business leads to understand strategy and priorities.
- Set and enforce the risk levels acceptable to Golden Hippo through appropriate reviews and approvals and ownership of our knowledge bank and playbooks.
- Collaborate with other members of the Legal team, including those responsible for employment, intellectual property, dispute resolution and litigation, as well as other departments to help grow, mentor and learn from others.
- Enhance processes to support increased efficiency and compliance, including by evolving intake processes; drafting, maintaining and updating templates; driving efficient workflows; and tracking resolution of key issues as they arise.
