Position Purpose

Regis Corporation is seeking a Vice President, Head of Legal, to oversee corporate legal matters and manage the Legal team. Responsibilities include review and negotiation of contracts; management of transactions and litigation and claims, advice and counsel in a wide variety of practice areas, including franchise, employment, marketing, privacy, and general operational compliance. This position is responsible for oversight and management of outside counsel relationships and fees. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer at Regis and leads a Legal team of two attorneys and six paralegals.

Responsibilities

Review and negotiate commercial contracts, other than real estate and franchise-related agreements, and advise as to contractual rights and obligationsProvide support for transactions, including due diligenceManage litigation in a variety of practice areas, including lease/real estate, commercial, employment, intellectual property, accessibility and othersManage general liability litigation and claimsProvide support for workers compensation claimsAdvise regarding employment law compliance, including policies, requests for employee records and other matters as neededAdvise Marketing team regarding advertising, collateral, promotions and contests, gift cards, licensing, and customer service mattersAdvise and manage outside counsel regarding privacy complianceRespond to government inquiries, subpoenas, and investigationsSupport quarterly reporting, including legal fee accruals and reports to external auditorsProvide legal advice on various questions within the framework of primarily franchised business

Qualifications

J.D. from an ABA accredited law schoolMinimum 10 years of practice, including substantial experience assisting U.S. public companies, with minimum of 5 years of in-house experience, with franchise law experience on behalf of franchisor(s) preferredExcellent communication (verbal and written), drafting, and negotiating skillsStrong business acumen, problem-solving skills and legal judgmentMust have exceptional customer focus and approachabilityLeadership and managerial experienceMust have exceptional organizational skills and the ability to consistently prioritize, coordinate and satisfy numerous competing demandsSuccessfully achieve deadline driven results that effectively achieve business objectivesSelf-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environmentExcellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills

Salary Range: $200,000-$225,000
